Our UK Community Manager Kristina taste-tested that infamous dinner on the London Tube. Find out what it’s really like onboard London’s most unique “underground” supper club.

The London Underground has a really bad rep. No matter the time of day, there is usually a delay, it’s always packed, there is always one person that feels the urge to open an egg mayo sandwich and it’s definitely not the place to strike up a conversation with the person sitting next to you.

So what would you say if we invited you underground for dinner on the Tube? Sound intriguing? Introducing “Dine on a Victoria Line Tube”, an experience taking “underground dining” to a whole new level. The team behind this dining experience bring you London’s most unique dining experience, serving a 6-course Latin American tasting menu on a refurbished 1960s Victoria Line carriage in The Pump House Museum in East London.

As you step onboard the beautifully refurbished carriage, you’ll be handed a welcome cocktail or glass of fizz before being seated at the long communal dining table or a smaller 2 to 4 person table, if you’re looking for something more intimate.

Passionate head chef Beatriz Maldonado Carreño from Columbia will talk you through the 6-course menu, which brings the taste of South America to East London. The menu changes seasonally, but imagine dishes like “Tiradito de Salmon Nikkei”: salmon with tamarind ponzu, spring onion, radishes, and coriander and “Ceviche de abadejo y tomatillo”: pollock marinated in lime and chilli, celeriac, red onion, coriander, tomatillo salsa verde. Is your mouth watering yet? Make sure you arrive hungry!

Dine on our Old Victoria Line Tube” supper club is an absolute must for all Londoners, and for tourists too! Mind the step and join us for London’s most authentic dining experience. The venue is quirky, the food is full of flavour and the atmosphere is relaxed. This is an amazing way to meet new people in London and one of the only times you’ll actually want to strike up a conversation on the Tube with strangers!
